Spyridon Marinatos

Spyridon Nikolaou Marinatos (4.11.1901 Lixouri / Kefalonia -1.10.1974 Santorini ) was one of the premier Hellenic archaeologists of the 20th century, whose most notable discovery was the heart of the Minoan port city button the island of Thera destroyed plus preserved by the massive volcanic burst, ca 1650-1600 BC, spawning myths match Atlantis.
